“myMilk is helpful”
Ingo Köhrmann runs a farm with his family in Bassum, Lower Saxony. The 36-year-old has a positive view of DMK's digitalisation.

“I think it's good that the dairy cooperative is moving with the times and offering us farmers digital solutions so that we can quickly access information and exchange ideas. I am thinking of the fixed price model, which is very practical and allows us to lock in prices for a year. The myMilk online platform is also helpful when I receive a push message on my smartphone in the cowshed about the quality of the milk I delivered the night before. This means I can immediately adjust the feeding of my cows. It's great.

Of course, as a self-employed person, the price I get is important to me. And to be honest, DMK is the only cooperative in my region. So I'm dependent on the pricing policy, which can be tough for me. And sometimes I have problems with the dairy's decisions. But DMK's value-added programmes give me confidence. For example, Farming Type 3, for which I am in the process of being certified. At the end of the day, it's good to know that I'm with the biggest dairy, which gives me security. I know many small dairies and companies that have disappeared from the market in recent years.

With the milk price always paid on time, I can also plan well. The biggest challenge for the farm will be the lack of skilled labour. That's why we can't avoid automation and will eventually switch to milking robots.”
